About Us
Jeremiah's Foundation, Inc. was founded on January 1, 2012 by Eric Emminger, Maggie and Barb Mathey shortly after rescuing Jeremiah, a horribly neglected dog. The inspiration and legacy of Jeremiah is the foundation for our 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.
We have four primary functions:
1 - Education and Awareness: To help educate and bring to awareness to the public of the welfare and well-being of our animal friends. To show the reality of and to bring to the forefront of animal abuse, neglect, abandonment, and cruelty.
2 - Medical and Wellness Assistance: To offer medical and wellness assistance to people in need of helping with and ensure the well-being of their pets.
3 - Pet Food Assistance: To offer pet food assistance (not limited to only dogs) to families struggling financially.
4 - Animal Rescue: To rescue, evaluate, medically treat, and eventually re-home animals who have been neglected, abused, and/or abandoned.

Our Vision and Mission:
We were created on the premise that no companion or service animal should suffer needlessly, and that the bond between human and animal should be preserved and protected in the face of life's challenges. Our foundation's ambition is to provide a prevention-based approach to alleviate animal hardship and to establish ourselves as proactive leaders in the welfare of animals and the human lives they impact. The foundation provides food and assistance with medical costs to low income families in our community.
Our purpose is to ensure low income pet parents and their companion or service animals remain together when issues arise. The goal in doing so is to prevent at-risk animals from being surrendered or falling victim to euthanasia for treatable conditions and behaviors.
